BenQ Corporation (“BenQ” or the “Company”) today announces that it has sold a 31.55% equity stake in the Company’s affiliate, Airoha Technology Corp. (“Airoha”), to MediaTek Inc.(“MediaTek”) for NT$606 million in cash. Following this transaction, MediaTek will become the single largest shareholder of Airoha.Airoha Technology Corp. is a fabless semiconductor company that designs, develops and markets RF/mixed signal IC solutions for wireless applications. This strategic move will benefit BenQ, Airoha and MediaTek as the synergy it creates will provide a better platform for the development and integration of handset chipsets.

BenQ today announced its consolidated revenue for the month of November. The company’s core business recorded sales of NT$ 11.9 billion.
Unit sales of projectors hit a record high again in November as the company recorded sales growth four quarters in a row. “Projector strength is especially apparent in Europe and Asia Pacific,” according to Eric Ky Yu, BenQ’s Senior Vice President of Finance and Spokesperson. BenQ projectors continued its strong performance in third quarter, ranking No. 1 in twelve markets, including Germany, according to DTC Worldwide, a leading market research firm.
BenQ is moving ahead with its organizational re-alignment as previously announced. With BenQ’s handset business, “we plan to continue making adjustments to headcount and capacity,” continued Mr. Yu, and additionally, following the announced re-alignment of the company’s Integrated Manufacturing Services(IMS)business, “customers have responded quite favorably as evidenced by BenQ’s recent customers wins.”
For purposes of improving the company’s balance sheet and financial structure, BenQ’s board of directors convened today to approve a proposed issuance of unsecured bonds exchangeable into shares of AU Optronics and NT$5 billion in syndication financing.

What a night for our partner teams in the UEFA Champions League! Both clubs sponsored by BenQ-Siemens landed convincing victories on game day two of this year’s tournament. German champions Bayern Munich won their away match at Inter Milan with 2-0. They now lead Group B with 6 points and a stellar 6-0 goal count. Looks like our partner team Munich could move into the elimination stage of the tournament once again.
The other BenQ-Siemens team in the competition – Real Madrid completely crushed their opponent Dynamo Kiev 5-1. Star strikers Ruud von Nistelrooy and Raul scored two goals each and Reyes added another for the Spanish side.
