Nokia Unveils Three New Handsets

Nokia Unveils Three New Handsets Nokia today unveiled a trio of mobile devices that balance stunning and sophisticated looks with the latest in mobile functionality. All three devices, the Nokia 6600 fold, the Nokia 6600 slide and the Nokia 3600 slide present a smooth, minimalist design and an appealing array of easy-to-use features. The devices range in price from 175 EUR to 275 EUR before taxes and subsidies and are expected to start shipping during the third quarter of 2008.”There is a strong consumer demand for mobile handsets that blend elegant looks with modern features,” said Mikkel Drucker, Director, Connect Devices. “Each of the three devices introduced today offers a slightly different take on a core design language. We believe they are both beautiful to use and beautiful to behold - and offer a range of choice.”

Nokia 6600 fold - Smart and sophisticated looks

With one touch of a button, the elegant Nokia 6600 fold smoothly opens to reveal a stunningly bright 2.13″ OLED screen displaying up to 16 million colors. With its seamless design, the signature “smooth back” of the Nokia 6600 fold creates a comfortable contour when open, and remains subtle and compact when closed. The high-gloss surface of the Nokia 6600 fold comes to life when tapped twice to “wake up” the hidden outer display that reveals time, incoming messages, missed calls and more. A double tap on the Nokia 6600 fold also snoozes alerts and silences or rejects incoming phone calls.

With a set of contemporary mobile features that belie its compact size, the Nokia 6600 fold is proof positive that beauty can be far more than skin deep. 3G technology allows for fast and easy sharing of pictures and videos snapped with the integrated 2 megapixel camera with double LED flash or swift access to Internet services such as Yahoo! Go or Flickr.

The Nokia 6600 fold easily fits into a pocket or a handbag and has an estimated retail price of 275 EUR excluding taxes and subsidies.

Nokia 6600 slide - Compact and balanced

Being one of Nokia’s smallest sliders to date, the Nokia 6600 slide stays true to its name as it smoothly glides open in the hand. The appearance of the Nokia 6600 slide with its glossy, high-quality steel covers and aluminium center key constitute both understated elegance as well as visual simplicity. Its well-balanced feature set is created to be exciting and intuitive. Tapping the Nokia 6600 slide twice conveniently indicates time, snoozes, alerts and silences or rejects incoming phone calls.

The 3.2 megapixel camera takes high quality pictures and videos that can be shared with others via Internet services or multimedia message - directly from the photo menu. The large 2.2″ QVGA display with 16 million colors also makes it easy to find your way around town, thanks to the integrated Nokia Maps application which can be enhanced with an optional Nokia Bluetooth GPS Module LD-4W and separate navigation license. The slim, lightweight Nokia Bluetooth GPS Module LD-4W features an innovative design that takes Bluetooth navigation beyond the car and into the hands of urban trekkers and leisure travelers.

The Nokia 6600 slide has an estimated retail price of 250 EUR excluding taxes and subsidies.

Nokia 3600 slide - Contemporary combination

The Nokia 3600 slide aims to win hearts with a blend of tasteful colors, materials and tactile finishes, and minds with a full range of the latest features. Soft ceramic paint and metal combined with high gloss surfaces and gradated colors to make the Nokia 3600 slide beautiful to both touch and see. The Nokia 3600 slide is equally beautiful to hear as it is the first Nokia product to feature background noise cancellation. With a built-in music player the Nokia 3600 slide offers up to 3000 favorite songs on an optional 4 microSD card.

The small, ergonomically shaped Nokia 3600 slide also delivers a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus and 2 LED flash and is excellent for taking pictures or videos, even in dim lighting conditions. The TV-out feature, which conveniently connects the Nokia 3600 slide to most television sets, ensures quick and easy sharing of pictures and videos.

While the beauty of the Nokia 3600 slide will tell the world about its owner, the pre-installed Nokia Maps application with an optional Nokia Bluetooth GPS Module LD-4W will tell the owner a lot about the world they are in. The Nokia Maps application holds more than 15 million points of interests, including restaurants, shops, hotels and more.

The Nokia 3600 slide has an estimated retail price of 175 EUR excluding taxes and subsidies.

CSR's new platform enhances hands-free Bluetooth user experience CSR today announced that its BlueCore5-Multimedia platform now supports integrated speech synthesis, also known as text-to-speech (TTS), and speech recognition (SR) functionality. Developed through its third party eXtension Partner Programme with NowSpeak and Rubidium Ltd., CSR can now offer headset and hands-free car kit users a true hands-free experience when using Bluetooth accessories. CSR’s industry leading BlueCore5-Multimedia platform is the only Bluetooth device on the market with an integrated DSP and on-chip memory, allowing it to host third party software to offer end users an unprecedented level of audio quality and functionality when using Bluetooth.By combining speech synthesis and SR technologies CSR provides users with ultimate control when communicating via either a Bluetooth headset or embedded car kit. With support for all major languages and a small memory footprint it is possible to include multiple languages in a Bluetooth device. Its speaker independent speech recognition requires no user training, supports multiple vocabularies and can be used to recognise words, digits or whole phrases. NowSpeak’s speech recognition is designed to work in real world situations with background noise reduction and rejection of unwanted sounds. NowSpeak text-to-speech and speech recognition solutions can be integrated together or used independently.

Rubidium’s speech synthesis and SR offering, is available on the CSR BlueCore5-Multimedia platform. Rubidium’s speech synthesis uses concatenate TTS based on real human speech to produce pure and natural sound, while keeping use of computational resources exceptionally low. It supports diverse languages, and was designed to offer rapid and flexible addition of virtually any language and voice. Rubidium’s core SR technology derives from its proprietary Rubidium Dialog Engine series, featuring speaker independent recognition and supporting keyword spotting and noise robustness. Optimised to support essentially any language and accent, it uses artificial intelligence elements to cope with natural language, dynamic vocabularly and multi-layer dialogues.

CSR’s BlueCore5-Multimedia has been specifically designed to enable best in class audio for applications including high-end stereo and mono headsets. Antenova’s 4mm low profile penta-band antenna covers the GSM 850, GSM 900, DCS 1800, PCS 1900 and WCDMA 2100 bands and is also suitable for CDMA/TDMA 850 and 1900. With a small volume of about 1cc and an impressively low 4mm height, this antenna is the thinnest penta-band antenna in the world and offers over 50% average terminal radiation efficiency over all five bands. The hexa-band antenna covers the same five cellular bands plus the 2.4 GHz band for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi applications, has a volume of less than 5.8cc and offers an average terminal efficiency of greater than 50% over all five cellular bands and 40% efficiency in the 2.4 GHz band.

McCray added, “Antenova has been leading the industry with its high performing multi-band HDA internal antennas for mobile handsets and portable devices. Antenova’s patented HDA antennas, through our licensee partners and customers, have been in mass production since 2004 and enable some of the most advanced wireless devices, smartphones and feature phones around the world. HDA antennas can be found in a significant number of handsets from 4 of the top 5 handset OEMs, including Motorola and Samsung, and in a multitude of handsets from ODM customers in Taiwan and China.”

Sprint delivers first EV-DO Rev. A Handset - the Mogul by HTC

Sprint delivers first EV-DO Rev. A Handset - the Mogul by HTCSprint announced that it is offering the industry’s first EV-DO Rev. A-capable handset as part of a software upgrade available for the Mogul by HTC. Introduced in June 2007, the Mogul is a Windows Mobile device operating on the Sprint Mobile Broadband Network and is packed with advanced wireless capabilities to keep users productive and connected for personal and professional reasons — all at SprintSpeed. The new software ROM and downloading instructions are available at www.america.htc.com/mogulupdate.EV-DO Rev. A technology supports faster data rates and higher system capacity enabling users to send and receive large amounts of data at broadband speeds (speeds comparable to basic DSL). Wherever EV-DO Rev. A coverage is available, average download speeds will increase from 400-700 Kbps to 600 Kbps-1.4 Mbps and average upload speeds will increase from 50-70 Kbps to 350-500 Kbps. These increased data speeds provide customers the instant gratification of quickly downloading large e-mail files on their phone while in a taxi cab, finishing and sending the sales report before their plane takes off and wirelessly downloading music to listen to directly from a Sprint handset. Because Sprint embraces an open approach to mobile Web access, customers may access the Web sites of their choice and download third party applications to enjoy anytime, anywhere. The Sprint Mobile Broadband Network (inclusive of data roaming) reaches more than 234 million people, 13,453 cities and 1,321 airports, with the vast majority upgraded to the faster EV-DO Rev. A technology.

Besides enabling increased data speeds for e-mail, Web, document management and other tasks, the free software download also provides advanced GPS functionality allowing support of popular applications such as Sprint Navigation. Sprint Navigation provides audio and visual turn-by-turn directions, more than 10 million local listings, and one-click traffic rerouting on compatible phones, similar to an in-vehicle GPS system.

“The Mogul by HTC now delivers the full power of the Sprint Mobile Broadband Network from the convenience of a handset, giving our customers a speed and capacity advantage unavailable anywhere else in the marketplace,” said Danny Bowman, vice president of customer equipment for Sprint. “Besides accessing core capabilities like calendar management, contact lists, personal and corporate email, and viewing documents, customers can use the benefits of SprintSpeed to stay connected, informed and entertained at anytime.”

The enhanced capabilities of the Mogul combined with Sprint’s recently launched $99.99 Simply Everything pricing plan delivers undeniable value to Sprint customers. The $99.99 Simply Everything plan offers customers unlimited voice and data and is available for any Sprint or Nextel Direct Connect handset. Pricing complexity and concerns about overage charges are virtually eliminated letting customers think more about how they can use their wireless device for work and play and less about their bill. For families, Simply Everything includes an incremental $5 discount for each incremental line, up to five lines on the same bill. For example, two lines would amount to $194.98 ($99.99 + $94.99); a third line would cost an additional $89.99. This is in sharp contrast to the multi-line savings offered by some other carriers. Existing Sprint customers can switch to the “Simply Everything” plan without extending their current contract. New line activations require a two-year agreement.

The Mogul continues to be a premium Windows Mobile device in the Sprint device portfolio replicating the familiar Windows PC-based experience and utilizing the Microsoft Windows Mobile 6 Professional Edition to deliver key benefits including increased security and added support for HTML email and Microsoft Office Mobile. Other key features include:

* Innovative design with slide-out QWERTY keyboard, large touch screen, a thumbwheel and five-way navigation button.

* Support for Sprint applications including Sprint Music Store and OnDemand.

* ActiveSync software allowing fast and accurate synching of Outlook Mobile applications included on the device such as e-mail, calendar, task lists and contacts.

* Phone as Modem capabilities to use the phone as a wireless modem with a laptop.

* A 2-megapixel camera with flash, auto-focus and camcorder capabilities.

* Stereo Bluetooth wireless technology.

The Mogul by HTC is available in Sprint Stores, online at www.sprint.com and in Sprint business sales channels for $199.99 with a two-year service agreement and a $100 mail-in-rebate.

Garmin's nuvi 900T combines Mobile TV and navigationGarmin International Inc. today announced the nuvi 900T, a personal navigation device (PND) that combines cutting edge navigation features with DVB-H mobile television. The device is being co-branded with wireless carrier 3 Italia — the Hutchison Whampoa Group’s Mobile Media Company — and will be available exclusively in Italy.”The nuvi 900T is the ultimate device for those who want to mix business with pleasure,” said Dan Bartel, Garmin’s vice president of worldwide sales. “The new nuvi 900T can play live, streaming digital television and music files. But at its core, the device remains a robust and full-featured navigation device that’s straightforward enough for anyone to use.”

Using the DVB-H format, video TV content is provided exclusively by La3 TV, the Mobile Digital TV provider of 3 Italia. Each unit comes with a six-month free subscription to La3 TV content as well as access to pay per view offerings. 3 Italia launched La3 TV — the first Mobile Digital TV based on DVB-H technology in the world, broadcasting the entire FIFA World Cup 2006 on a mobile exclusive basis in Italy. 3 Italia’s Digital Mobile TV customers can watch news, sports, movies and entertainment content through an array of digital channels, including Sky, Mediaset, Rai and the “in-house” produced channels La3 Live and La3 Sport.

The nuvi 900T features a bright, 4.3-inch WQVGA color touchscreen display, and can serve as a brilliant picture viewer (with photo navigation capability) and has optional travel guide features as well. Users can also play MP3 audio files, audio books from Audible.com, and pre-loaded games. The nuvi 900T boasts front-firing stereo speakers and a removable lithium-ion battery.

For hands-free phone calls, the nuvi 900T can be paired with compatible phones using Bluetooth wireless technology. Users can find and dial phone numbers (specifically supported phones can even access their history log of received, missed and dialed calls) or nuvi’s points of interest database (hotels, restaurants, stores and more).

The nuvi 900T also includes Garmin Locate(TM), which answers age-old questions of a driver’s current location or the location of his vehicle in a crowded parking lot. At any time, with a single tap of the screen, drivers can display their exact latitude and longitude coordinates, the nearest address and intersection, and the closest hospitals, police stations and gas stations. Additionally, the unit automatically marks its last known position every time it is removed from the mount.

Negotiating busy highways with the nuvi 900T is easy, thanks to a lifetime traffic subscription that helps drivers avoid gridlock and adjust routes accordingly. The nuvi 900T is also pre-loaded with safety camera data that can be updated free of charge for 30 days.

CSR launches BlueFox2 Bluetooth headset design for just $5

CSR launches BlueFox2 Bluetooth headset design for just $5CSR today furthered its lead in Bluetooth headset technologies with the release of its BlueVox2 mono headset solution costing just $5; the world’s lowest cost advanced Bluetooth headset. BlueVox2 features extremely low power consumption and zero cost noise reduction. CSR’s design incorporates a number of world firsts, including AuriStream for superior voice quality, simultaneous connection of multiple devices and support for Bluetooth version 2.1+EDR. BlueVox2 also presents headset manufacturers with the opportunity to design the world’s smallest Bluetooth headsets through an ultra small 4.5×5.5mm BGA package option. The low eBOM of $5 includes the BlueVox2 QFN chip, together with all of the components necessary for a Bluetooth mono headset mounted on a four-layer printed circuit board. BlueVox2 is incredibly power efficient, permitting 15 hours talktime with a small 120mAh battery. BlueVox2’s range of features also includes hardware-based noise reduction technology at no extra cost. CSR’s all inclusive eBOM helps OEMs keep their costing simple and predictable.

The design also raises voice quality to the standard of a landline phone by using CSR’s AuriStream CODEC. AuriStream delivers an ITU-T mean opinion score (MOS) of up to 4.2 out of 5, even without the additional benefits of noise reduction. In comparison, headsets using only the more standard CVSD CODECs achieve a MOS of around 2.46. Calls made using AuriStream are of noticeably better quality.

BlueVox2 is the first ever ROM headset design to allow two or more Bluetooth devices to be connected to the same headset. This means that with one headset it is possible to take calls from both a work and personal phone or a phone and a VoIP dongle. The feature doesn’t impact the power consumption and is designed to be easy and intuitive to use.

BlueVox2 is the world’s first ROM to adhere to Bluetooth v2.1+EDR, offering Secure Simple Pairing, which greatly simplifies the headset-to-phone pairing process while significantly increasing Bluetooth device security. With the enhanced inquiry scan Bluetooth v2.1 can also gather and present a greater range of information when searching for devices, including a list of services each device supports.

“We are very pleased to have achieved a number of world firsts in BlueVox2″, said Anthony Murray, Senior Vice President of CSR’s Wireless Audio Business Unit. “BlueVox2 has by far the lowest power consumption in the market, is the first to use Bluetooth version 2.1, first to feature AuriStream, the lowest cost headset with so many features and, thanks to clever engineering, one of the most compact headsets in the world. The noise and echo reduction as well as the AuriStream CODEC ensures that voice quality on this device is better than any other on the market. CSR has crammed in a huge number of features for an eBOM of just $5. Most of these features would normally only be available in much more costly solutions.”

BlueVox2 integrates onto a single chip the world’s leading Bluetooth radio design, CODECs for the microphone and speakers, power management, a battery charger and a microprocessor to run virtual machine applications. BlueVox2’s silicon, based on CSR’s BlueCore6-Audio ROM, features a low cost 7×7mm QFN package as well as a 4.5×5.5mm BGA package option for the world’s smallest headset IC. The performance of BlueVox2’s radio is exemplary, with TX+8dBm and Rx -90Bm helping to overcome cross-body issues and increase range.

CSR is currently sampling BlueVox2, with first headsets expected to be in the shops by Q308.

Sony announces new nav-u personal navigation devices

Sony announces new nav-u personal navigation devicesFor drivers geared toward value, Sony Electronics is announcing that its new nav-u(TM) personal navigation devices (models NV-U73T and NV-U83T) are now available at retail and online stores for about $300 and $400, respectively. These in-car portable systems contain navigation features that drivers have come to expect, such as text-to-speech voice commands and real-time- traffic capability. They also add new safety features, such as the super suction cup mounting system.

Sony’s new super suction cup comes with both models. It is easy to mount on the windshield or dashboard, providing a tight, stable attachment. Made with a flexible non-adhesive gel, it grips the rugged surface of the dashboard so the touch screen can be mounted closer for an easier reach.

Designed to stay put even in the most extreme temperatures, the super suction cup can also be easily removed and transferred to another vehicle.

Bluetooth Hands-Free Phone Calls

The top-end NV-U83T model adds another safety feature-Bluetooth technology-for making hands-free phone calls. With a built-in microphone, drivers can use voice commands to initiate calls via compatible Bluetooth- enabled cell phones. The nav-u system connects automatically so drivers can keep their hands on the steering wheel and their eyes on the road.

This new model has a large, 4.8-inch (measured diagonally), 16:9 aspect ratio display and ultra-thin footprint.

With anti-glare coating, it is easy to see the screen in any lighting condition. With its high resolution, the device maintains a clear image even when the screen is split into two images.

This unique dual view feature helps drivers navigate visually so they don’t have to rely solely on street signs. It zooms in and shows certain landmarks to help drivers make the correct turns at the right time. On the highway, dual view shows a 3D rendition of approaching intersections with lane guide information to let drivers know exactly where they need to turn if necessary.

Low GPS Signal … No Problem

When the GPS signal is weak, the nav-u device will still be able to keep drivers headed in the right direction. Another unique feature, called POSITION Plus(TM), provides constant, more accurate positioning and interruption-free guidance. In addition to the SiRF Star III GPS chip, POSITION Plus includes pressure, gyro and acceleration sensors. The device uses these additional sensors to calibrate where drivers are so they can safely plan ahead and not miss turns coming out of tunnels or from in-between tall buildings.

Touch Screen Shortcuts

Gesture command, another unique new Sony function, lets drivers jump to commands with one touch on the display, eliminating the need to dig down on the menu. If drivers want to go home, they just draw a roof (or inverted “V”) and the destination becomes home. Other gesture commands include zoom in or out, call home and two user-customized destinations.

The nav-u device is the first Sony portable navigation system to show brand icons for restaurants, hotels, gas stations and stores. In addition to proactively selecting a point of interest, drivers will automatically see brand icons appear on the map so it’s fast and easy to find favorite locations while driving in unfamiliar cities.

Text to Speech

Ready to use right out of the box, both nav-u devices help drivers map a destination, locate points of interest and find home again. Both models come with text-to-speech technology, which enables the voice prompts to actually say the name of the street or highway. A powerful speaker ensures that voice prompts are clear and audible.

The nav-u systems come with nearly 5 million points of interest, making it easy to find destinations nationwide. The system will automatically complete partial entries of states, cities and street names. It also comes with U.S. and Canadian maps on their 2GB flash memory. Maps of Alaska, Canada, Hawaii and Puerto Rico also come pre-installed.

About as wide as a deck of cards, the new devices have a thin, portable design. They also come with a Memory Stick Pro Duo slot for future expansion capabilities.

The NV-U73T model comes with a 4.3-inch (measured diagonally), 16:9 aspect ratio display. Its features include text-to-speech functionality, the dual view feature, super suction cup mounting system and gesture command.

Availability

The nav-u portable navigation devices are available at www.sonystyle.com, at Sony Style retail stores nationwide, at military base exchanges, and at authorized dealers around the country. For more information about the products, please visit www.sonystyle.com/navu.

Sony’s new Walkman video MP3 models support noise-cancelling and Bluetooth

Sony's new Walkman video MP3 models support noise-cancelling and BluetoothSony today unveiled three new Walkman video MP3 models that for the first time in the United States support noise-canceling and Bluetooth technologies. All three NWZ-S710F, NWZ-A720 and NWZ-A820 Walkman players also support common audio formats, including MP3s.

“Achieving the highest audio quality is one of our top priorities when designing our players,” said Steve Haber, senior vice president of the Digital Imaging and Audio Division at Sony Electronics.

High-Quality Audio and Video

The new Walkman video players offer great video resolution and brightness, along with high-quality sound and an extended battery life. They come with Sony’s EX series in-ear-buds with 13.5 mm drivers that passively block out ambient noise and help create a better listener experience.

Sony’s clear audio technologies are also included and significantly improve sound quality when playing back digital music files. They fill in the high tones that can be lost during file compression, enhance the bass, minimize distortion and maintain a consistent channel signal.

The devices have a standard user interface that makes it easy to enjoy songs, videos or pictures. For exceptional image quality, the video players have a large Quarter Video Graphics Array (QVGA) LCD screen that displays video at 30 frames per second. QVGA is a display mode for small screens in which the resolution is 320 pixels vertically by 240 pixels horizontally.

The battery life is up to 33 hours of music playback for NWZ-S710F models and up to 36 hours for NWZ-A720 and NWZ-A820 models. The battery life is also up to nine-and-a-half hours of video playback for the NWZ-S710F model and up to 10 hours for the NWZ-A720 and NWZ-A820 models.

Integrated Noise-Canceling Walkman Players

For business travelers or families who want to keep the volume down and the audio quality high, Sony has created the NWZ-S710F series of noise canceling Walkman players.

These Walkman players have a built-in noise-canceling system that can reduce up to 75 percent of the ambient noise. Five clear audio technologies are built into the device to create sound clarity that maintains the same quality of the original source.

Because the system diminishes intrusive noise, listeners can avoid turning up the volume. Travelers can turn on the noise canceling feature and get peace and quiet even without listening to music.

The compact and lightweight NWZ-S710 players have a 1.8-inch QVGA (320 by 240 pixels) LCD screen (measured diagonally). They include an FM tuner with 30 presets that make it convenient to listen to the radio on the go.

With or Without Wires

The NWZ-A720 series has a bigger 2.4-inch QVGA (320 by 240 pixels) LCD screen (measured diagonally). Incorporating the design ethos of both the previous A and S Series Walkman players, these models have a slim body and a sleek industrial design.

With the same look and feature set as the NWZ-A720 series, the NWZ-A820 and NWZ-A820K series adds Bluetooth technology. This technology eliminates the inconvenience of wires while streaming tunes from the MP3 device to headphones or other devices with Bluetooth technology. It also makes it easier to listen to music virtually anywhere, anytime: in the living room, bedroom, office or even outdoors.

These Walkman players have a 2.4-inch QVGA (320 by 240 pixels) LCD screen (measured diagonally). For NWZ-A820 and NWZ-A820K series, users can manually delete videos directly from the devices’ internal memory without connecting to a PC.

For fitness enthusiasts, the NWZ-A820K Walkman player comes bundled with both the EX-series earbuds and the DR-BT21G Bluetooth wireless technology enabled headphones. With a wireless behind-the-neck style, the DR- BT21G stereo Bluetooth headset has built-in remote control features that play, pause and forward tracks. Fully charged, this headset offers hours of listening to music, watching videos or hands-free talking while connected to a compatible cell phone.

These devices use stereo Bluetooth Stereo technology with Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) to deliver high-quality sound. The Walkman players support multiple digital music devices and accessories, including headphones, headsets and speakers with Bluetooth technology.

These purpose-built solutions are the latest two-way radios, the accessories that bring the convenience of Bluetooth to public safety radios, and a mobile digital video recorder (DVR) that features a server-based video data management system.

These Motorola products will be on display at Booth #1400 at the International Wireless Communications Expo (IWCE) Feb. 27-29 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Diverse Product Rollout

The newest additions to the Motorola portfolio of two-way radios include offerings for both the commercial tier — the CP110 Portable Two-Way Radio — and the professional tier — the PM1200 Mobile Two-Way Radio. These two-way radios allow users to enhance employee efficiency and productivity. Today, Motorola unveiled its first phase of wireless accessory solutions for two-way radios in the form of the Motorola Bluetooth Adapter. Users can quickly and easily pair this Bluetooth Adapter with the compatible Motorola Bluetooth Headset H300(TM). The Motorola Bluetooth Adapter was designed with busy professionals in mind and has been certified and tested to work with the following Motorola portable two-way radios: PR1500(TM), HT1000(TM), XTS1500, XTS2500, and XTS5000.

DigitalPatroller DP-2, manufactured by Integrian, is Motorola’s new in-vehicle video recording solution designed specifically for public safety, and it provides an important capability for law enforcement. DP-2 starts with a mobile DVR attached to a video camera in the police car. When triggered the DVR begins recording video from the camera and audio from the portable microphone that the officer wears. The audio and video are stored on the hard drives of the DVR. When the car returns to headquarters, video is retrieved and stored in a database.

The database enables recorded video and audio to be called up later by type of incident, location or date. Having the video in digital format also makes it easy to search and easy to share with prosecutors and other agencies. DP-2 is rugged, reliable, and automatic, letting the officer concentrate on the job; it’s Motorola technology that’s second nature.
