WiMAX modems and gateways will dominate the WiMAX chipset market, representing nearly 50% of the market on a unit basis in 2013, according to new research from In-Stat. 2009 will see a total of 1.2 billion mobile devices shipped, according to the latest data from ABI Research. That includes all categories of wireless devices including cellular handsets, MIDs (Mobile Internet Devices), netbooks, mobile consumer electronics products, and cellular modems.
